S.M Sahai likely to be new DGP of J&K
SRINAGAR, JUNE 23: The smart cop credited for having brought Kashmir back to peace after the unrests in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013, who was shown the door when Kashmir witnessed the longest unrest in 2016 S.M. Sahai, IPS is likely to replace Jammu & Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S. P Vaid.
Sources told PTK that the posting of Sahai as DGP was proposed by the recent BJP-PDP regime, however with the imposition of governor rule. Sources added that the decision of promoting Sahai as DGP have been giving node.
Pertinently with the imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, many reshuffles were made in the administration.
Sahai is an IPS officer of 1987 batch and has served his services in the state for the last three decades.
