Five arrested for raising anti-national slogans in Jammu & Kashmir
POONCH, SEPT 02: Taking cognizance of the raising of anti-national slogans during a protest demonstration in support of Article 35-A at Mendhar town on Friday, Police on Saturday booked 11 persons and also arrested five of them.
A case FIR number 153, under section 124A/120B has been registered in this connection at Police Station Mendhar and a hunt has been launched to arrest the remaining accuseds, who also have been identified.
The arrested accused were identified as Wasim Ahmad Khakhar, son of Mukhtar Ahmad Khakhar of Shopian, Mohd Nasir, son of Mohd Kala of Mankote, Tahir Abbas, son of Lal Hussain of Saki Maidan, Naveed Khan, son of Mohd Sadiq of Sangiote and Prince Sharma, son of Bhole Nath (an SPO) of Gohlad, Mendhar.
The arrested persons along with six other accused, who have also been identified, allegedly raised anti-national and pro-Azadi slogans during a demonstration in support of Article 35-A on Friday.
According to SSP Poonch, Rajiv Pandey, Police has taken cognizance of the offence committed by these accused and necessary action under law was being taken in this regard.
Last week, two FIRs were also registered in similar offence and the investigations were going on.
