Miscreants try to set ablaze Panchayat Ghar in South Kashmir

Days after the state Election Commission announced the dates for Panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir, few unidentified miscreants attempted to set ablaze a Panchayat Ghar in twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian in south Kashmir.
In a fourth such incident in past couple of days, unknown persons set an under construction panchayat building on fire in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district last night.
Reports said that the panchayat building was set ablaze in Nagbal village of Tral last night. The building, they said, suffered minor damage.
“It was an attempt by the miscreants which was thwarted by a patrolling party of the security forces,
Fire officials immediately rushed to the spot and doused the flames, causing minor damage to the building.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has also been initiated.
