No polling in Budgam in the absence of candidates or opponents

Budgam:No polling held in the three municipalities in Central Kashmir’s Budgam, which was originally set today, because there was no candidate or opposition in any of the municipal institutions. These areas include Charar e shareef Magam and Beerwa, with 39 wards.
In Beerwah one candidate had filed his nomination who won uncontested and other 12 remaining wards have no candidate.
In Chrar e Shareef there were total 13 wards in which eleven candidates have won uncontested and other two wards have no candidate.
Also there were 13 wards in Magam in which six have no candidate and whereas the candidates of other seven wards won unopposed.
In six muncipalities of Budgam voting took place only in one ward in its first phase at Budgam’s ward 5.
Meanwhile shutdown was observed in Charar e shareef area as JRL has given a shutdown call in polling areas for phase two.
