AVALANCHE HITS KHARDUNGLA IN LADAKH; ATLEAST 10 PEOPLE FEARED MISSING
Srinagar: In a tragic incident, an avalanche hit Ladakh’s Khardung La mountain pass in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The incident has left at least 10 people trapped, who have gone missing after the avalanche; as their vehicle came under the snow.
As per eye witnesses few people, including one SUV- Scorpio came under the snow on the road.
A rescue operation has been launched and efforts to rescue the trapped are being made.

Khardung La pass:
The pass on the Ladakh Range is north of Leh and is the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys. The elevation of Khardung La is 5,359 m (17,582 ft).
