ARMY BUILDS HOUSE OF SHELLING AFFECTED FAMILY OF DEVTA
Rajouri: Coming for the rescue of a poor family from Devta village of Balakote in Poonch, army has constructed a new house for the family as the existing house got damaged in March last year in which five members of the family also got killed.
Locals said that the incident took place on 18 March, 2018 when a shell hit the kitchen shed and house of the poor family in which five members of the family got killed while only two daughters survived.
” Mohammad Ramzan (45), his wife Malka Bi (43) and three sons Rehman (19), Rizwan (18) and Razaq (8) were killed and two daughters were injured in the firing on that very day and girls remain hospitalized for weeks together.” said locals.
The duo sisters have been identified as Noreen Akhter (15) and Marin Akhter (8). Both the sisters are presently living along with their grandmother who is looking after them.
Army’s Basooni based Rashtriya Rifles came for the rescue of the poor family and got the house of the family constructed which earlier got damaged in shelling.
” A two rooms fully furnished cemented house has been constructed and handed over to the family a week ago.” said locals.
Old grandmother of the two sisters, who lost their parents and three brothers in shelling said, ” Army has constructed the house otherwise government gave nothing to us.”
” Neither my two granddaughters nor I have received any help from state government.” she further said.
She along with some other relatives castigated state government authorities as well as national conference for befooling them to adopt the two sisters for their education and said that only army has come forward for their help.
