ARMY ORGANISED A “LECTURE ON ARMY-FRIENDS OF THE LOCALS” AT CHINGAM, KISHTWAR
Srinagar: Indian Army organized a “Lecture on Army-Friends of the locals” at Chingam, Kishtwar District.
In an Endeavour to foster peace and strengthen the ever existing bonhomie between the local populace and Army, an event with the slogan of “Army-Friends of the locals” was organized. In the series of events that unfolded at the venue, religious leaders of Hindu and Muslim communities explained the religious teachings which preach peace and harmony. The local population commended the efforts of Indian Army in stabilizing the situation and that of civil administration including police in maintaining law and order and carrying out development of the area.
In the end, the Army and civil administration officials highlighted the need of maintaining peace, tranquility and brotherhood between Army and locals. The event also helped in commemorating the strong bond shared between the security forces and the masses over such a long period. A total of 35 people witnessed the event and it was heartwarming to see the bonhomie shared between the civilians belonging to all communities and the men in uniform.
