ITBP PERSONNEL PROTECT AMARNATH YATRA PILGRIMS FROM STONES AT SNOW SLOPE. RESPECT, SAYS INTERNET
Srinagar: Several videos of security personnel protecting pilgrims from natural hazards during the Amarnath Yatra went viral on social media on Friday. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police guarded the pilgrims from shooting stones on a foot bridge, near a waterfall on the Baltal route in Jammu & Kashmir.
In videos shared on the official account of the Indo-Tibetan
Border Police, security personnel were also seen placing shield walls to
protect the pilgrims from shooting stones in a glacier near the waterfall in
Baltal. Some officers also helped the pilgrims to cross the bridge during their
Amarnath Yatra.
The internet is pleased with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police and praised the
security personnel for their constant efforts to protect the pilgrims.
“Huge respect,” read a tweet while another user wrote: “Proud of
@ITBP_official keep it up !! Jai Hind!!” Another tweet read, “Brave
soldiers. Salute to all,” as several others hailed them as the “real
heroes”.
News agency PTI reports that a batch of 4,722 pilgrims left Jammu on Friday to perform the Amarnath Yatra. Till Thursday, 50,483 devotees completed ‘darshan’ at the Himalayan shrine situated at 3,888 metres. As per devotees, the shrine houses an ice stalagmite structure that symbolises mythical powers of Lord Shiva.
